MISSION STATEMENT:

Stop The Marina! intend to achieve the following goals:

1. To prevent Penlee Quarry being turned into a marina and housing development.

 2. To oppose the construction of a ‘Seafood Park’ at Newlyn Coombe or at any other location.

3. To oppose the built-up development and land reclamation of Sandy Cove and the construction of an extension, and rock armour protection, of Newlyn Harbour South Pier.

4. To oppose the construction of breakwaters off Penzance Promenade.

5. To oppose the conversion of business premises around Newlyn harbour, and its environs, into 'unaffordable' housing units.

6. To promote the use and conversion of the Penlee Quarry site, largely unaltered, as a nature/wildlife reserve, and/or and heritage/activity centre.

7. To promote the building of a marina (without additional housing) at Penzance Harbour or at Long Rock.

8. To promote the views and aspirations of the Cornwall and Scilly Urban Survey (CSUS) for Newlyn and Penzance.

9. To promote the sensitive regeneration of Newlyn Inner Harbour (option 'B' revised) e.g. piers, fishmarket, workshops, car park/s, ice works etc.

10. To have a really big party when we achieve all this!
